RE: Beach Screen bag (Follow-Up #1)

I have made the pet screen bags and they work very nicely for beach bags. The straps are made of pet screen also. The vinyl pet screen can be purchased at Lowes or Home Depot. It comes in black on large rolls.about $15.....and I have found the screen at fabris stores in yellow and green......a little pricey but not bad. One roll makes 5 or 6 tote bags depending on how large you make them..use your teflon foot if you have one.........add any fabric you like,,,cottons work well....so does upholsery fabric......straps are tri-folded strips of pet screen zig-zagged together....good luck Chris

embroidery stabilisers for baby clothing

posted by: moyaust on 08.27.2006 at 11:12 pm in Embroidery Forum

Hi. i'm having a baby in less than 4 weeks and have a Brother innovis machine. i'm trying to embroider on baby rompers/bodysuits (100% cotton, 170-220 gsm) and am having trouble finding the right stabiliser to use. i don't want to use too thick a stabiliser (u can see the cut-away through the fabric and they leave a horrible line) but the tear away doesn't seem stable enough. i've seen some clothing which has a light mesh over the finished embroidery as well so the stitches don't scratch the baby.

if anyone has any advice, i'd appreciate it.
