Video of Attack on Nestlings

posted by: bet_from_ct on 06.27.2007 at 01:58 pm in Bluebirding Forum

Linda of the Bluebirding Forum sent me the video clip of the attack she posted about, which appears to be a house wren. In the video, you can see how lightning fast it was, as the bird removes 3 of the 4 babies. Fortunately for the bluebirds, they saw the video feed, went out and recovered the babies, which so far are doing okay.

THANK YOU Linda for sharing this with us. It is unbelievable. I must have been very hard to edit the video. All I can say is that bluebird family is VERY lucky to have your family as landlords.

Here is a link that might be useful: WATCH VIDEO of ATTACK

Not as many as you might think! Make sure they have air. I use plastic butter/margarine tubs with holes punched in top, and keep them in the vegetable drawer of the fridge (who needs vegetables anyway LOL). For 5000 I divide them up into 5 or 6 butter tubs.
Then, as needed, I have about a dozen little plastic sauce containers like you get in a restaurant, again with holes punched in top, for "daily servings". That way, even DH doesn't have to touch them, just dump the small container into the feeder dish (a glass custard cup so they can't escape).
As long as they have air, they will keep in the fridge a long time. But you will be surprised how long 5000 DOESN'T last, LOL.
