RE: To anyone putting carpeting in their new home (Follow-Up #17)

I'm a fan of good old fashioned textured plush myself. Frieze looks too much like shag to me and while I like Berber, it must be of High quality to hold up well. The cheaper Berbers are absolute crap.

FYI, for anyone who is shopping for carpet, go to some local stores and write down the name, style number and color of models you like and then email one of these places listed below for MUCH better prices. Most carpet is manufactured in GA and these wholesalers are all located in GA and offer mill-direct pricing. I ended up getting my upgraded carpet through my builder because I couldn't afford to purchase it outright with all my other expenses right now, but the prices these places quoted me were 40-50% better than the retail prices I saw in stores. Shipping will be around $200, but no tax (unless you live in GA).
