RE: Other long-blooming hardy geraniums? (Follow-Up #1)

In the UK I have 4 geraniums. Patricia flowered 24 weeks last year, Rozanne (23 weeks), Ann Folkard (18 weeks - 22 prev year) and Mrs Kendall Clark (6 weeks, but aquired during the year - if it doesn't do better this year its out!).

"All" (I only have 10-15 different, but it is a trend) G. x oxonianum are long bloomers: light pink 'Rebecca Moss', dark pink 'Rosenlicht', the very beautiful 'Hollywood', pink 'Rose Clair', pink 'A.T. Johnson', etc.
'Johnson's Blue' is of course famous for longblooming, but he also tends to become long-legged ...

I've had the white and the pink ones for about 3 yrs. This is the 1st year that one did exactly what you described.I am one zone warmer than you and they have made it through Atlanta hot summers a few times. One is still as fresh looking as ever but the other one is browning out. Both of mine flower for about 10 weeks I would guess. They love to be cut back to freshen them up and they come back really fast. Like alot of geraniums they sure dont like full or even close to full sun. Just in case the bad one doesnt come back I snipped off one plant above ground and rooted it and its doing great. Hope they do come back like your friend says....bobby

I'd agree most likely Rozanne - it has an extremely long bloom time and a definitely sprawling habit (Jolly Bee is more upright). It also has a much wider availability here in the states compared to Jolly Bee and tends to have a more definitive white eye.

FWIW, 'Rozanne' and 'Jolly Bee' are NOT the same plant. Parentage is similar but not identical, they are propagated and licensed under two separate patents, leaf shape and patterning is not the same and their flowering is similar but also not identical.

NOTES:

this sounds like a good geranium to try
