So I'm tired of my living room and kitchen looking like a preschool! We are going to be moving soon and I want to come up with a good way to organize toys. I want something that will look neat. I've found that open bins tend to look messy and cluttered. Show me what you have done that is neat and easy to stick to!!

no landscaping allowance :(. There are some small shrubbs planted along the front of the house and a little sapling (not sure what type).

I'd love to get some pictures so I can get a sense of what I like and will work in this climate. I'm new to the garden scene!

We'll be in North Baltimore.

So we're buying a new house and I've never furnished anything in my life! I've posted in the kitchen forum but am not getting help. Maybe this is the more appropriate place for the thread...

I have a big family (and growing). I would love to see pictures of your kitchen tables to get some ideas. Include where you got it and what it cost!

Is my table supposed to match the wood of the cabinets??

Help, I'm clueless! I've included a link to a picture of my kitchen in case you have some brilliant ideas for me!

Plantation Shutters Pros/Cons, need advice

Hi, I'm new to this website and owning a home so forgive my lack of sophistication! Can somebody help give me a very general education in window treatments? I've gone through and read the threads here but I need more basic information.

I'd like to do plantation shutters. I love the style but am worried about cost. I was thinking of only doing the down stairs rooms to save $$. What are the pros/cons for using real wood vs. other materials? What can I expect to pay for each?

If I can't afford the plantation Shutters what would be the next best thing that would give me a similar look?

I am grateful for any advice/resources that you can give me! Again forgive my ignorance!!

First time furnishing a kitchen and desparate for advice!

We are first time homebuyers and I have never bought furniture before! Everything we have is hand-me-down or (weak stomachs don't read this) Ikea furniture. I am ready to invest in some good stuff that's not made of particle board.

I would like some adivce on choosing a kitchen table. We are a big family (and plan to get bigger) so I need plenty of seating. I don't want glass (dangerous for little kid forheads and chins)! We have a formal dining room so this table can be a bit more casuaal. I've included a link to a picture of the kitchen. Is there a way I can just post a picture here? Any websites or images that you think might be of use would be greatly appreciated!
