More applause here for The Station Agent! We watched it a few weeks ago, loved it, watched it twice. The story is gentle and the cast is exceptional.

I have used this several times and it was really great!

Times I used the recipe I had leftover cooked shrimp.

Changed the recipe, by cutting up the shrimp into small pieces, mixing everything together, poured in the precooked lightly browned 9" pie shell.

I served it chilled.

Red Lobster's Shrimp Quiche Recipe

Serving Size: 4

1 pre baked 9" pie crust
4 ounces pettite Alskan shrimp -- cooked, peeled,
and deveined
2/3 cup grated Gruyere cheese * Used shredded swiss
2 eggs -- beaten
1 cup light sour cream
1 tablespoon finely-chopped green onions or chives
Salt -- to taste
Freshly-ground black pepper -- to taste

Cooking Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Evenly spread shrimp on the bottom of the pie crust.
Sprinkle with grated cheese.
Beat together eggs, sour cream, green onions, salt and pepper.
Slowly pour the mixture into the pie crust.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Serve warm or cold.

This recipe yields 4 to 6 servings.

To die for pound cake

posted by: sheilajoyce on 08.30.2014 at 05:13 pm in Kitchen Table Forum

I tried this recipe for Pound cake from Trisha Yerwoods cooking show. It is absolutely delicious. It is very moist and flavorful.

2 sticks of butter (1/2 pound of butter), room temperature
3 c sugar
6 eggs, room temperature
3 c flour, sifted
1 c whipping cream, room temperature
1 tsp vanilla

Cream butter and sugar very well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating until just incorporated into batter. Do not over beat. Add flour alternately with the whipping cream, starting and ending with the flour. Do not over beat. Add vanilla.

Grease and flour a tube pan. Pour batter into pan and smooth it.

Put in cold oven. Close the door and set the oven to bake at 325 for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Use a cake tester to test for doneness.

Cool in pan 20 minutes and turn out onto a rack to cool.

My angel food cake pan is a little smaller than normal, so I have to bake it an additional 20 minutes. YUMMY!
