The Blanco sink site isn't let me show a photo just now, but our Blanco Silgranit II Precis Cascade is 28" in length by 18" in width in a 33" sink base cabinet. It's a split sink with low divide, 7.5" on left and 5 1/2" on slightly raised right side. So under-mounted, the greatest depth is 8.5". We love it. Cost was ~$550.00 or less-can't recall.

Have you heard of the Sink Setter if you're going the undermount way? It allows the sink egress from below should their be a countertop problem. I put one in upon advice of GW. Even my fabricator had installed them before.

Review our design

We would value your opinion of our kitchen remodel plan. Here's the floorplan. We have an induction cooktop with a downdraft built in behind it. Glass front cabinets either side of the window over the sink and over the "desk." All the uppers are 39 inches tall with crown molding. The 48"x15" rectangular area below the fridge is actually a pantry. We are unsure of which way to go on the backsplash. What are your thoughts on no backsplash at all? What about a full backsplash all the way up to the upper cabinet in the same granite as the countertop? Thoughts?

Here are three screenshots of the finished plan. We are thinking of putting a countertop microwave on a shelf built into the cabinet but that only leaves us with three 18 inch upper cabinets other than the corner lazy susan uppers. Is it worth getting the microwave up off the countertop?

We originally considered having an appliance garage in both corners either side of the sink but have reduced it to just one. And we are even considering eliminating that so we can have more flexible counter space. Thoughts?

To the right of the double ovens is a 24" wide base cabinet that we might use for a laptop/tablet and a kitchen "office" area. Should we go with a desk with legs instead of the cabinet base and add a chair/stool? Is that too narrow to be practical? Thanks very much for your inputs.
