Help cover eye sore

posted by: mkrzyz22 on 11.18.2012 at 08:59 pm in Home Decorating & Design Forum

My office is quite small. 6'9"x18'. I have an access door on one end for attic access and it sticks out like a sore thumb. How can I soften it and blend it in to the decor? White frames around it? Shelves? Bookcase to the one side of it? I'm at a loss.....

my plant shelf is BLAH and my kitchen needs help(Pics)

posted by: mkrzyz22 on 03.31.2008 at 10:23 am in Home Decorating Forum

i posted before about my BLAH plant shelf and thank you for all the suggestions...I love the idea of herbs in cute little pots!
I'm posting more pictures of my kitchen so you can get an idea of what else is going on in there. I'm not a fan of our backsplash. I was 7 months pregnant with twins when we picked it out and at the time I really didn't think about it too much or care. We were so excited to have it installed and we are very dissapointed with it...not much we can do now unfortunetly!
Anyway, I'd love more suggestions on the window treatments including the french doors ( I love the view and it is pretty private so maybe I don't need anything? Although at night I do feel on display...
i need A LOT of help with that huge expansive wall by the table. It's such a big wall I have no clue what to do here. We will eventually be getting a different kitchen table and chairs but aren't sure if we should go round or square or rectangular? Also need different stools for bar area.
Thanks for your help!

Need Dining Room help!

posted by: mkrzyz22 on 02.21.2008 at 11:58 am in Home Decorating Forum

My dining room is so empty and plain. I have no idea what to do as far as decorating...more furnitue, window treatments, etc.

the existing table was my DH's grandparents so we have to keep it. We made these slipcovers for it because the chairs were too ornate for our style. Our home is Craftsman Style and we like straight, simple designs, semi modern and some Asian influences.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

upholstered headboards, anyone?

posted by: jjam on 02.18.2008 at 08:46 pm in Home Decorating Forum

I'd like to replace my King sized four poster bed with something that doesn't take up so much room. I like the look of an upholstered headboard and wonder if any of you have photos or experiences to share. Thanks in advance.

help me with my plain master bedroom! lots of pics!

posted by: mkrzyz22 on 02.25.2008 at 02:45 pm in Home Decorating Forum

We have this HUGE master bedroom and I feel it's very empty. I think we have a good start, I like the duvet and we just made the upholstered headboard (although I think maybe we should have done it in chocolate brown instead..oh, well...), nightstands are ok, I just put those lamps there...wasn't sure what else to do with them, am interested in your thoughts on those or another option for nightstand lamp. I'd love to know what you think should go above bed as far as art work is concerned and what window treatments you suggest as well. Also, the room feels so empty...there are some spaces that feel like maybe we need more furniture here. A chaise lounge or love seat perhaps? Flat screen will be hung on that wall and either we will leave that marble table under it with picture frames on it or move to another wall. Any ideas on accent colors? I feel it's very taupe in here....baby blue or chocolate pillows for the bed?
Also, I originally wanted to put a brown leather bench at the end of the bed but we had this cedar chest in the garage and my dad made it so we are using it there for the time being....

I'm open to all suggestions...please help me though...I am clueless here!
Thanks!
