Hi Andrewlina - My Austins are new this year so can't comment on hardiness, but so far Charlotte( nice and compact , clean aside from a few green-splotched leaves a while ago), Abe Darby and Graham Thomas are clean (these two get pretty tall though and need support), and all are already on their second flush (hoping all goes well for a third in September!). Morden Blush, as Madcitymike says, is a constant bloomer, never without flowers, and no sign of disease yet, although some say they have had BS problems with it. I think it could be considered a 'cute bush'! And of course, Rugosas(though probably way too large for your needs) are disease resistant and hardy, two or three flushes (except Therese Bugnet, one flush and sporadic flowers after, and the pavements - continuous flowers, not tall but sucker a lot). Frau Dagmar Hastrup (sp?) is one that stays nice and compact for me, and it's a pretty one - flowers are large for the size of the bush and fragrant. I am waiting for the suckering to start with this one though! By the way, I don't spray.
