RE: Crock pot recipies (Follow-Up #3)
posted by: fairegold on 08.17.2006 at 07:44 pm in Cooking Forum Stew---- cut up stew meat (chuck roast is what I used last week), dredged in seasoned flour. One can of low sodium broth or 1/2 can broth, 1/2 red wine. 1 onion chopped, 1 rib celery chopped, a couple or 3 carrots, sliced, three potatoes chopped. (My potato cut for stew is usually 1/2" or more.) Bay leaf, S&P, and whatever spices you want. I add oregano and red pepper flakes. You can adjust it later. 8 hours on low or 4 hours on high.
