RE: new home, first garden in Ocala (Follow-Up #9)
posted by: karalynn on 01.17.2006 at 09:51 am in Florida Gardening Forum Welcome to the area! You're more than welcome to come to the plant swap in march. I live about 45 minutes from the CFCC campus. There will be several people coming that live in the Ocala area so you might be able to arange to see their gardens for some ideas.
I agree with Nicki about the roses. My favorite rose is the Louis Phillipe which gets huge, blooms year round, and has a great fragrance. You'll want to be carefull with the angel trumpets when your grandson gets old enough to play in the yard. Kids will put the strangest things in their mouths. NOTES: Oops! I may have underestimated how big my Louis Phillippe Rose will get.
