Help framing in cat door
posted by: courtreporter on 08.30.2007 at 04:24 pm in Crafts and Decorations Forum Hi,
Thought I would look to all the creative folks out there. I'm looking for ideas to frame in this cat door. Like a doll house door (although I don't like that idea), or the cat coming out of a mouse's mouth? This is a back door mudroom with the cat hole door mid way on the wall. Thanks. Hope this picture links for y'all! I can't remember how to direct link images in here. Does anyone have directions how to do it again? I'm looking for some creative, fun whimsical ideas to frame in the cat door. Like painting a picture around the square or framing it in like a dollhouse (stupid idea). Does anyone have any suggestions?

Pics of world's worst kitchen - need help
posted by: courtreporter on 03.26.2007 at 12:53 pm in Kitchens Forum We are going to redo this AWFUL kitchen. This is a historic 1890s house and I have no idea where to even begin. Any advice? Do you think an island could fit in here somewhere? Should the sink be centered between the two windows? What about a double wall oven? I don't even know where to start. A professional kitchen designer told us "the layout cannot change" and "no island" and wanted $60,000 just for cabinets!!
Any and all advice so welcome!!!!!!!

Pics of home office off kitchen completed.
posted by: courtreporter on 03.26.2007 at 11:42 am in Home Decorating Forum Just an update on our home office off the kitchen. Thanks all for your feedback in putting it together. I welcome more - I need to stage the shelves. Put something on the woodwork over the roman shades. Those were done by Calico Corners, by the way. I absolutely love them!
Look forward to hearing feedback! NOTES: <none>

Cat door fun
posted by: courtreporter on 11.19.2006 at 06:49 pm in Home Decorating Forum I am looking for ideas for a cat door.
I thought (for some character) I would paint something around the cat door. Something funny or whimsical. (looks like cat is exiting dog's mouth or something but not so obvious) Love to hear suggestions! RE: painting a homeoffice (Follow-Up #4)
posted by: jamies on 11.14.2006 at 02:51 pm in Home Decorating Forum You only asked about paint color, but I would reinforce the outdoor room feeling that the brick wall, terra cotta floor, big window, and raw pine suggest. I'd paint the door black or dark green, and the wall a shade of green, too. I'd use a desk with stainless elements or a potting bench-like attitude, and puts lots of plants around in containers that feel outdoorsy and are different heights. I'd try to use awning stripe on something - perhaps my desk chair - and a rough textured inexpensive (the cheaper the better) rug.
