Vinyl Shiplap Backsplash

posted by: cindyhg on 08.28.2013 at 02:11 pm in Kitchens Forum

Anyone have experience with vinyl wainscoting or shiplap boards as a kitchen backsplash?
I love the look of mamadadapaige kitchen (inspiration photo attached).
But, I want the ease of vinyl. Will it look to plastic in our newly renovated kitchen/great room?
We used vinyl as beadboard wainscoting in our bathroom (Plastpro Veranda from HomeDepot). I'm very happy with it there. But, I really want the shiplap, horizontal board look.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Finished Kitchen - 20 pounds of sand in a 10 pound bucket

Hi,
Not sure if you remember last spring when I was working on the layout of my kitchen... super long list of stuff I had to get in there and a very challenging floorplan with a chimney and two staircases to work around.

You were all so helpful during that time and more recently too with lighting decisions.

My number one priority was seating for four and also being able to have the kids work with me - the peninsula allows both of those and it is working out SO well. I also love having so much more natural light coming in with two new windows (although the windows mean less wall cabinet space but I love having the light so I would still opt for this).

Which Marble-Like Quartz with Ikea Adel Cabinets?

posted by: cindyhg on 07.15.2013 at 05:01 pm in Kitchens Forum

I'm trying to decided which Quartz Counter tops would look best with the white IKEA Adel cabinets.
I'm going for the look in this photo (from houzz). I really love the look of marble, but want Quartz.
I've been leaning towards Silestone Lagoon lately, but maybe Torquay, Misty Carrara or just a pure white?
Anyone tried these combinations?

Here's what we're planning:
Perimeter Counter: Quartz white or marble look
Ikea Adel off-white cabinets
Wood island counter top
Wood floors
Stainless steal appliances and sink
Weathered Nickel Hardware
White subway tile (probably, but maybe marble mosaic)
