Green bean pesticide problem

posted by: chel12vuk on 08.09.2013 at 07:00 pm in Beans, Peas & Other Legumes Forum

Can anyone help me out with a green Bean question? I sprayed a bayer pesticide on my veggie garden and a few days after I was looking through the directions to see when I could pick the green beans after and couldn't find any beans in the directions. I called the 1-800 number on the bottle and asked them and they said its not for green beans and to wait until next growing season for beans now. Why would the pesticide be safe for the rest of the veggies but not beans? I know I should of asked this question when I called bayer lol, but maybe someone here can help me out?!

HAVE: Geraniums with red flowers

posted by: chel12vuk on 08.08.2013 at 03:04 pm in Plant Exchange Forum

I have a few rooted Geranium clippings with red flowers I am looking to trade. I don't want to have to look for room for them inside when winter hits. I'm pretty much up for any trade on anything I don't have. I love succulents, I could use some hens and chicks, and I'm also looking for weeping willow cuttings but like I said offer anything! 😃

I would love to have a wandering jew cutting. I have a select few things to trade, I'm new to this so I don't have an abundance of plants yet. I have
citronella geranium,
aloe Vera,
another succulent that I was told was a mexican firecracker,
and Christmas cactus-dark pink flowers.

Let me know, thanks!

WANTED: Citronella, tea tree, and other insect repelling plants

posted by: throughtheforest on 06.19.2013 at 01:56 pm in Plant Exchange Forum

Hi gardeners!

I'm working on a new little garden-scape around the porch where my dog hangs out. We don't have much of a mosquito problem around here but the flies are enough to drive you mad! So basically, I'm looking for anything I can plant that would help to keep the flies away. From what I've read any of the following could help:

Tea Tree

I have a pretty long list of seeds up for trade and a few plants- so if you have any of the above mentioned seeds or plants (or any others good for repelling flies) take look and let's trade!

Suggestions for drought tolerant cemetery garden......

posted by: flowersandthings on 05.11.2004 at 05:53 pm in Drought Forum

Hi, what kind of plants would you recommend for a sunny dry site that I can't regularly water....... I'd like drought tolerant things...... it's not exactly dry in New Jersey in the heat of the summer but I need things that won't die from lack of water........ I'd like some groundcover, shrub and perennial or decorative herb suggestions...... I'd like to make a small garden in my family plot at the cemetery..... if they're are any drought tolerant disease resistant yellow roses...... that'd also be great as one deceased family member loved yellow roses....... I'd like alot of bang for the space since it's small and would like plants that work hard like evergreen and flowering etc. ......... would just love a low maintnenace garden I could tend a couple times a year to keep the spot looking decent...... neglected grave sites always make me sad....... any suggestions????? ........
