RE: Tell me about your Sealing Granite experiences (Follow-Up #3)
posted by: dmlove on 08.08.2007 at 02:00 pm in Kitchens Forum Our granite fabricator sealed our Crema Bordeaux counters with StoneTech Impregnator Pro upon installation (just a year ago) and water still beads up on the counters and nothing stains them. Bill Vincent recommends this brand along with Miracle 511 and a couple of others.

RE: Tell me about your Sealing Granite experiences (Follow-Up #6)
posted by: alku05 on 08.08.2007 at 09:56 pm in Kitchens Forum I used Miracle 511, and my experience was pretty much what was described above. However I have a tip for applying and removing the sealer.
Apply the sealer with a towel and let sit for 3-5 minutes just like the directions say. I found that the sealer became tacky during this time, and that makes it hard to remove. So what you do is use two towels for removal: one clean and dry and one slightly dampened with the sealer. Wipe the counter with the damp towel and then buff to a shine with the dry one. (Just like in the "Karate Kid" when he was doing "wax on, wax off"...) This will give you a perfect application with no streaks. NOTES: <none>
