Diseases of a Golden Euonymus

I believe that our bushes may have scale from what I looked up so far, we have removed them from in front of our porch and took the healthy ones and replanted them somewhere else. I plan to put new plants where the bushes used to be, my question is does scale spread to other plants or would I need to be sure and get every single leaf that fell off out of the flower bed before planting new plants there? Thanks!!!

drawer inserts?

posted by: cpartist on 12.02.2010 at 10:05 pm in Kitchens Forum

My kitchen is almost complete. I am so excited and can't wait to use it.

I need your advice, thoughts and what you like and don't like about your kitchen drawer dividers. I'm looking for advice for knife block inserts for cooking knives, and also how you have organized all the spatulas, spoons, whisks, tongs etc in your drawers. Do you have a good way to keep all those utensils separated and easy to find quickly? If you used a particular brand of insert, can you please direct me to where I might find it? Did you have it custom built and if so, can I please see a picture?

I have 2 24" drawers on either side of my cooktop, and an 18" drawer to put in a knife block. is that big enough for about 13 working knives?

Thank you in advance.

In the same vein, what did you do with your spices? Do you like your solution?

Hello & Cast Iron Sinks - Not Farm/Apron

posted by: Lauraeds on 01.14.2014 at 04:57 pm in Kitchens Forum

Hi all -

I've been lurking here for a few years, making notes, printing out photographs of all my favorite kitchens and features -- what a treasure trove of experiences and opinions.

We purchased a great 1930's Georgian style brick home last year, and after some smaller projects, we are ready to tackle the kitchen. It's going to be a massive project - combining an existing kitchen and existing garage into a new space.

I'm sure I'll have some significant questions and inquiries later, but for right now, I'm going to start off with an easy question:

Enameled cast iron sinks -- had one we loved in a previous renovation - a big (33") Kohler, single basin, deep and wide. It was great! I'm not personally a fan of the farm style/apron front sinks, and that seems to be the current trend.

Kohler has a few single basin undermounts that might work (Riverby and Indio), but I wondered if there are any other manufacturers I should be checking out. I've not had luck in my searches.

Thanks in advance!

Laura
