Maybe this will help.

The center front of the bra is called the bridge and the bridge should sit close to the chest. If there is a gap, then the cups are too small.

Also, the way to try on a bra is to bend over at the waist, then hook up the band. You want the breasts to fall fully foward and fill the cup...if it overflows, you need a larger cup size.

A bra strap should not cut into your shoulder as 90% of the support should come from the band, and only 10% from the shoulder strap.
