RE: Do orchids with root rot ever recover? (Follow-Up #2)

Sadly the answer is: hardly ever. Here's my method for a 20% shot. Remove all the dead material. Put some small pebbles in the bottom of a large glass jar. Add about a dessert spoon of sterile water. No medium. Seal the jar. After a couple of days the water should have evaporated and provide 100% humidity. The jar should "fog up" but there should be no water in the bottom. Drop the rootless plant in, reseal, keep out of direct sunlight, then wait a long time and hope..... Good luck - Ian.
